The SY22810 is a high-frequency QR Flyback controller for PD adaptors and fast chargers. It is suitable for wide output voltage range application, with a maximum 240W output power. The maximum switching frequency can be up to 500kHz, so the size of transformers and capacitors can be reduced.

In the normal QR Flyback solutions, the valley number always jumps between 1-2 or 3-5, which will increase the Vo ripple and bring audio noise. The SY22810 can lock valley with a proprietary circuit and the number of valleys can be from 1 to 6. The system state is more stable than the normal QR solutions.

The SY22810 works under the peak current mode. It adopts the QR mode, and the MOSFET can be turned on at valley to reduce the switching loss, especially under a high input voltage. If the load decreases more, the SY22810 will enter DCM to reduce the switching frequency for a higher efficiency. If the load is very light, the SY22810 will enter Burst mode to reduce power loss.

The SY22810 also provides comprehensive and reliable functions including the HV start-up, X-cap discharge, brown in/out protection, output OVP, UVP, OLP, VCC OVP, internal and external OTP, etc.

The SY23434 is recommended to be used as the secondary side SR controller in conjunction with the SY22810. Then ZVS operation can be achieved for a higher efficiency.
